Following is the JD for DB2 DBA

Essential tasks in job responsibility will include:-

Grant appropriate privileges to primary and secondary AUTH IDs.
Create / modify database objects as defined in the physical model.
Enforce security standards and naming conventions.
Define and implement backup and recovery strategies for production environment.
Maintain physical environment; remove / update datasets as necessary for JCL, DDL, etc.
Review table/index growth for capacity planning: estimate future storage requirements.
Test new features and products, assessing applicability and defining usage standards.
Assist application development teams in resolving their DB2 queries/problems.

Following will be considered advantageous if the concerned candidate:-

Can build REXX macros, tools to support infrastructure & automate processes.
Has programming experience with COBOL programming.
Can setup automated Installation Verification Process for DB2 installations.

Required skill-set:-

Operating Systems z/OS (MVS), Windows
Languages/scripting JCL, REXX
RDBMS z/OS Database 2 (Version 8 and above)
Tools CA PLATINUM, SPUFI, QMF, Omegamon
